ACTIONS NOT WORDS V2 update
I was randomly laying in bed at the dorm thinking about the piece because it didn’t feel finished. Pleased to tell you now that I’m 99% sure it’s finished……98 maybe? Pray I overcome the artist’s curse.
"Actions not words"
Actions not words is generally about getting off your butt and doing what you have to do. When I
started this piece I wasn't really sure how I was going to capture this sentiment but I think I was
able to with the young man who looks focused and ready to hop right into it. I feel like everyone
should have that outlook, you can only get things done not by saying you will but actually doing
things.
"Called"
This was supposed to be a commission for a friend's music project. It was a very delicate but
enjoyable experience working on this. The idea was initially for him to be falling into a body of
water while holding a phone but i felt like that was too cliche or common and decided to switch it
up to him in a more outer space location, and i think it came off nicely. My love or should i say
my preference for red and blue ombre lighting is seen here too, I love that combination
"Iridescence"
I think that Triangles are cool because to me they are the building block of the future. They’re
efficient but still look so cool when you put them in the right places. I used them lot in this work
because I find polygons and depth work interesting in how they can make a simple drawing of a
man look like he has a backstory set in the future.
"Kayne"
KAYNE and not Kanye, haha. I sort of named it on purpose to confuse whoever fell for it. So this
guy is simply a road rider and bad ass. The Toothpick is a common Hollywood cliche, every
character wearing cool clothes and chewing a toothpick is cool and I wanted Kayne to be that.
Again, I love the red and blue lighting and it's honestly heavily inspired by the music I listen to,
yes especially Kanye, he even rapped about it.
"Peace and unity"
This one Started out as a school project about Nigerians being united. Whenever Nigerians
leave Nigeria they show that they’re driven and I love that. But who is driving this bus you
know? Why can't we recreate that here? I try not to be political but there’s no way this piece is
not political and it just represents how much better we can do if we were united
